Rexburg Farmers Market

So far, two wonderfully warm and sunny Fridays and one rather windy Friday found us at the Rexburg Farmers Market showing our hand-made wood 'n things. We have some name scrolled but are ready to work on any name someone would like. I have used pine and left the names unfinished to allow someone to paint, stain, and finish as they see fit. You will also find some hand-turned pens and hand-carved walking sticks. We have some other small projects at our booth: pill holders (can be used for an oil vial), kaleidescopes, dinner bells, salt and pepper shakers, and cake stands. Come see us on Friday, July 22nd and 29th and August 12th and 26th.

Sort-of an end to an eara

Provo LDS Employment Resource Services
As I sit here pondering the past year or so my thoughts return to the Provo LDS Employment Resource Services Center. The two years serving there are an important part of our family's history and will always have a soft spot in my heart. Since being released as a service missionary, I have been maintaining my contact with the work in Provo by claiming and completing the tasks of those individuals who register at www.ldsjobs.org from one of the BYU stakes. I noticed that the Church has made a change in the names of most of the BYU Stakes - to Provo Utah YSA stakes. I sent an email to the director of the Provo LDS Employment Resource Services Center and asked him about the changes I had noticed. I also asked him if there was something I needed to change in my email message. His response was that I didn't need to claim and complete the BYU tasks anymore. And, he was surprised that I was still doing it. Maybe I'll just need to volunteer some time at the Rexburg LDS Employment Resource Services Center.

It's been a while

We've been quite busy trying to get settled. We still have lots of boxes full of things that need organizing and elimination. We continue our service at the Rexburg Temple. We are continually getting acquainted with our neighbors and people in our ward.

We started planting our garden last week. Patricia was a little worried that it needed some watering but when we got up Friday morning, April 22, it was covered with snow that melted off by noon.

We are looking forward to our family's reunion in the Stanley, Idaho area August 18-20. We have cabins rented. Eric is taking the lead on this adventure. I've been getting ready with a fly rod; yet need to learn how to use it.

I have continued using the lathe and have quite an assortment of pens made. Patricia and Jodi had me turn some pedestals to make some cake stands - that was a fun project. I even sold a couple of my pens made out of Bethlehem olive wood.  Patricia is getting back into sewing projects.
