Saturday Mornings

Each Saturday morning we venture out into the darkness en-route to the light upon the hill - the Rexburg Temple. We find it a joyful experience, same joy experienced in traveling to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple when we lived in Orem. The difference is that we can drive all the way to the Rexburg Temple from our home and not pass any cars; and, it is dark when we leave home and light when we return. But the real joy comes from what we are able to do while inside - same joy as in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. While we miss our friends from Orem, we are enjoying our new home and surroundings in Rexburg. We look forward each week to spend time on our regular assignment to be in the temple. We invite all, especially our family, to find time to spend in the temple - whether it is the Draper Temple, the Mt. Timpanogos Temple, the Rexburg Temple, the Boise Temple or any of the temples in the world.

Visits are welcomed

Grand kids come for visits.

There are good places where we can go in Rexburg to eat and have an enjoyable time other than McDonald's or Fong's.

Grandma's Cookie Jar

As a youngster, my parents would take us to Tyhee (just north of Pocatello) to visit my grandmother Lemmon. We loved going to grandma's house because she always had a cookie jar full of cookies. There were lots of buildings outside (garage, barn, sheds) to explore also. Grandma's cookie jar was just like the one shown at the left except it was green where this one is blue. From now on (after this week), when any of our grandchildren, children, neighbors, or friends stop by for a visit, they will find  a cookie jar, the one shown at the left - like Grandma Lemmon's, full of cookies. Maybe on lucky days when you come for a visit you may find fresh baked cookies.

A Family Highlight

We are excited and well pleased with the opportunity to have a grandson enter the mission field. Carter entered the Provo MTC on November 17, the day before Emily's 16th birthday. Carter's (Elder Babcock) mission can be followed at: http://www.theboysabroad.blogspot.com/

A new beginning

 We returned to our former home (but different house/neighborhood) on October 19. It was very difficult leaving our wonderful friends and neighbors in Orem, Utah. We have a wonderful, small home that includes a 3-bay garage and shop, plenty of room to store things and have a wood-working shop. We are still getting settled; still many boxes to go through to see what can either be kept, sent to the landfill, or taken to D.I. We have a wood-pellet stove that works very well. We go out to eat less, and haven't gone to as many movies as we did while in Utah but the money we are saving in that regard is being spent on making the home comfortable. We are happy here, knowing we are doing what we feel is right.
We have been given the opportunity to serve in the Rexburg Temple. We are happy to be back in the temple on a regular basis.
Shopping isn't as readily accessible as we had in Orem; for me that is good, for Patricia it kind of leaves an empty spot.
